Our Administration team support administration through the full academic year and student lifecycle across the TEN Group. Standard reports are created and published and Funding and Compliance operate under the appropriate funding requirements, with Admissions and Examinations supporting the student journey.

* Funding and Census returns are produced throughout the year and throughout the Federation to statutory bodies such as County Council, Education Funding Agency, Skills Funding Agency and Higher Education Funding Council for England.

Campus Services

The Campus Services department of NES looks after the physical and operational aspects of estates and facilities across the TEN Group. This covers everything from keeping building open and safe to feeding staff and students at lunchtime.

Campus Services lead on the planning, development and management of new build and refurbishment works across the TEN Group – from a redecorated foyer to a new build institution.

Finance Services

NES Finance department provides key services to all TEN Group institutions; removing the burden of this complex and time-consuming service from the teaching institutions.

NES Finance Department provides full financial services for all organisations, covering:

Whilst NES provides a centralised Finance service it does not remove the independence of the individual institutions, rather it provides a professional service to best utilise the assets and resources of each institution but leverages the benefits that can come from bulk purchasing power and a single financial system.

Health & Safety

Norfolk Educational Services (NES) is able to offer Health, Safety and Information Compliance support to a range of businesses, provided by a team of highly motivated and competent personnel, holding nationally recognised qualifications which, in addition to general Health and Safety, cover Fire Safety, Construction Management, Asbestos Management and Legionella Management.

All Health & Safety reviews, audits and inspections are supplied with prepared reports documenting the significant findings and areas where there are opportunities for improvement and to highlight good practice.

Human Resources

NES offers a full Human Resources, Payroll and Training & Development service to TEN Group organisations. Human Resources Services has a team of fully CIPD qualified HR Business Partners to offer advice and support, as well as a team of staff to undertake transactional activity. Norfolk Educational Services is an umbrella body of the Disclosure and Banning Service and is able to undertake DBS checks on behalf of organisations.

The full range of Human Resource services available is:

  • Recruitment and Selection administration
  • Psychometric Testing and Assessment Centres
  • Professional HR advice and support on HR casework
  • HR support for formal issues, such as attendance at disciplinary and grievance hearings or Employment Tribunals

  • Running payroll, issuing payslips and answering queries
  • Processing pension documentation for Teachers Pension Scheme and Local Government Pension Scheme

IT Services

NES provides an extensive IT suport and development function through the IT Services department. This provision covers the full gamut of IT Services; from day-to-day technician level right through to bespoke application development.

The department also provides dedicated training and support for software packages available across multiple or individual institutions.

Library Services

Norfolk Educational Services (NES) provides library services facilitated by a team of qualified professionals. Service level agreements (SLA) will be arranged to suit each individual TEN Group organisation.

TEN Group is moving towards a single, unified Library Management System with central resourcing - NES Library Services will work with your existing library provision to understand the best service for your organisation.

Marketing & Communications

The Marketing & Communications team is a dynamic, creative and expert team that delivers a full range of marketing services.

Containing a Chartered Marketer, PR and Communications specialists, graphic designer and web developer, the Marketing & Communications team has extensive experience in delivering digital and traditional marketing that supports organisational growth.

The Marketing & Communications Team provides services in the following areas:

Professional Services

The work undertaken by the Professional Services Team is wide and varied, providing  a technical base for the TEN Group covering legal, contractual, procurement, insurance, information compliance, policies and governance.

Governance: Governance administration

  • Planning, arranging and preparing meetings of all TEN Group governing bodies and their committees
  • Providing administrative support to Governors and Senior Management as required
  • Maintaining the TEN Group governance registers
  • Co-ordinating Governance Training Events, including the induction and training of new Governors / Directors / Trustees / Academy Council Members
  • Controlling the TEN Group Governance Single Central Record
  • Managing BoardPad, including training new employees and Governors/Trustees/Directors/Academy Council Members
  • Attending and minuting Board, Committee meetings and Permanent Exclusion Hearings/Appeals
  • Advising Governors / Directors / Trustees and their committees on their responsibilities as detailed in the Instruments and Articles of Government on the application of the education acts and other laws affecting their work
  • Ensuring the TEN Group website Governance pages are up to date and all required information is published in a suitable manner

Governance: TEN Group Secretarial service

  • Preparation of Annual Reports, statutory returns and governance reports
  • Monitor and follow-up instructions arising from minutes, self-assessment annual action plans and Boards’ targets
  • Review standing orders for the conduct of business
  • Maintain a record of the Governing Bodies membership, and advise Governing Bodies on recruitment of Governors/Directors/Trustees and make arrangements for staff and student elections
  • Maintain and advise on the code of conduct for the Governing Bodies
  • Regularly update statutory information on the DfE, Companies House and Charity Commission websites
  • Ensure adherence to the Academies Financial Handbook
  • Keep up to date with Governance legislation and policy developments to ensure Group governance retains its contemporary relevance

Procurement:

  • Leading on tenders and other technical procurement advice

Insurance:

  • Processing all insurance claims
  • Advising and responding to queries on all insurance matters and manage legal claims brought against TEN Group
  • Organising insurance cover for a range of occasions
  • Advising on the insurance policies, the different levels of cover, clauses and exclusions as well as advising on the Government’s “Risk Protection Policies”

Information Compliance:

  • Advising on matters of information compliance and associated risk assessment and management
  • Developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to information management
  • Preparing and responding to requests for information made under the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000
  • Overseeing, maintaining and sharing an up-to-date knowledge and good practice of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation
  • Overseeing and assisting with regular internal data protection audits and inspections at each TEN Group organisation’s location
  • Co-ordinating the archiving and storage of student records and other archival records relating to TEN Group organisations

Policies

  • Administering non-academic policies for all TEN Group entities; managing the format, consultation with the policy owner, approval, publishing and review process

  • Providing legal advice and assistance

Data Protection

  • Provision of processing agreement templates
  • Visits to site to offer guidance and advise on all aspects of Information Compliance
  • Strategic & Management advice on Data Compliance
